My Boyfriend is Diabetic And I’m Not Sure I Can Handle it
I don’t want to be a nagging girlfriend, but my boyfriend recently got diagnosed with diabetes. I am extremely concerned about his health. I don’t know much about the disease, but I have been reading a lot about it on the internet to learn how to deal with the symptoms.
What I learnt:
So far is that diabetes is a chronic illness which needs to be monitored on a regular basis. I know I cannot remove the disease completely from his life, but I want to make a positive impact on his life. He has bad eating habits and does not exercise at all. I want him to focus on his health and well-being. There are extremely serious complications which might occur if he does not control his blood sugar level. He might also be at a risk of having Type 2 diabetes.
It is extremely frustrating for me to see his unhealthy food choices. In fact he gets very stubborn which it comes to fulfill his sugar cravings. It is a very tough time for me. I don’t know what to do to change his lifestyle. I want to make sure that I provide him an ongoing support to help him deal with the problem.
